niche appeal with Martha Stewart

11 Jan
Martha Stewart Living

Thank you once again Martha Stewart Living for including us in the February 2011 Great Finds” (PDF). Building on the current pinkish red color trend and some neutral complements comes this article “Niche Appeal” with a Maine Cottage Daisy Side Chair in Smoothie. It’s also available as an Armchair. We like the emphasis on “an easy formality” in this article. Wicker chairs are the essence of this style and versatility.

While we’re on the subject of RED and how colors make us feel, let’s remember our surface designer and colorist friend Anita Strods Dore and this visually appealing slideshow about developing and choosing color. In this case, our very own Maine Cottage color: Rhubarb. You can watch the high resolution version on our website: Finding Rhubarb Slideshow or the not-quite-so-good one via YouTube.

making an Entrance with Martha Stewart

cover: January 2011

Thank you Martha Stewart Living magazine for including our new solid oak Ogden Long Bench in the January 2011 issue under Great Finds. Martha Stewart Living says “their decorating mission has always been to create rooms that are functional, yet relaxed and inviting – in short, spaces that are about living.” Evidently, we are very like-minded as we could not have said it better. Ogden features a brushed finish and is happy to hold up to 4 Monday Baskets.

Nina in Leaflette with a Dilly pillow

Nina is a gracefully petite Armchair, Swivel Chair and Sofa with pleasing roundness and a plump seat. A perennial favorite in our stores, Nina’s attractive in any of our 200 Maine Cottage fabric choices – and particularly festive in our zinnia Dilly and Leaflette prints, so we thought we’d share.

all things Bright and Beautiful

21 Oct

Paula lives here along the coast of Maine where she has worked with us for two years to assemble this bright, beautiful living area – piece by piece and fabric by fabric. She’s very proud and excited about the outcome. And so are we! Here’s a great picture from her.

Maine Cottage look

What an invitingly warm and colorful living space! We love her choice of a Maine Cottage Adeline Sofa, Simon Chair and Ruben Hassock in Rambler and Just Dandy print fabrics with painted Fiddlehead End and wicker Cooper tables. A Tulip Lamp by Jill Rosenwald in a simple, proportionate form with coordinating colors adds interest. The repetition of soft greens, yellows with some red pull the whole area together with ease. Congratulations, Paula! Thanks for sharing.
