Maine Cottage Fabrics seen in: Women's Day Specials magazine

29 Apr

Apparently Maine Cottage fabrics are good enough for feline friends too. The Spring 2010 Women’s Day Special magazine “Easy Decorating” features a few of our fabrics for upholstering dining seating, an armchair & ottoman, and even this Ruben Hassock-looking “Beanbag Pouf”.

If you like DIY projects then find this magazine for full sewing instructions in the “How to” section. Or save yourself the time and order a Ruben Hassock from us in your choice of 2 sizes and +200 stain and spill-resistant (Nano-Tex protected) Maine Cottage fabrics. In fact, all of our Upholstered furniture is 10% off during May and 20% off when you order it in a discontinued/sale fabric.

Leigh (top) & Maggie

Next up for Maine Cottage is a 3-day professional photoshoot of the showhouse with Charleston photographer Leigh Webber. Leigh is no stranger to Maine Cottage. She has been taking pictures of our King Street store and staff for several years. She is always a joy to work with and her work is top notch.

We’re also very excited that Maggie Brett Kennedy, Photography Editor of Garden & Gun magazine, will be joining us. As our photo stylist, Maggie will help maximize photography of the house. This team is going to be excellent.

Commercial photographer Joey Grob of Olive Productions will provide a digital “virtual” tour of the house that we’ll post on our website for your viewing enjoyment.

2010 Designer Showhouse Closing Day

18 Apr

The Symphony Showhouse has been a resounding success – and today is the grand finale. At 4pm there will be a closing ceremony. Maine Cottage VP and General Manager David Petersen will be arriving to take part in the festivities.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to have taken part in this fundraiser and have enjoyed working with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra League. We also want to give special thanks to our own Sara Meyer for her incredible “behind-the- scenes” work and attention to every detail – like having fresh flowers in the house at all times!
